So... that happened. Kicked off Flickr due to their new nanny state system.
I originally was persuaded to start up a Flickr page because people wanted to see my avatars on Second Life, and I decided it would be nice to showcase my creative skills. Obviously my avatars are not PG although I had more than a few that were. It was all going rather nice. A little hobby, taking photos on SL and posting them to Flickr, but that was all it was. A hobby.
In May this year, Flickr decided that advertising revenue was not enough for them. They had adult safe guards in place to ensure that only people with accounts could see adult content.
As a result of this, if you want to post adult images, you are required to get a "Pro" account at the cost of £7.00 a month... My Crunchyroll subscription is less than that!
Sorry Flickr... but I am not paying you that to put up a few images of my avatars. I love that people like my work and want to see it, but seriously, if it is going to cost me money... well, you can quietly get lost.
So... after having my account suspended pending the removal of all Moderate and Adult pictures, I decided to trim them out. That went from over 100 images to 38... I submitted the support ticket and they came back to me this morning. Still suspended.
But why?
They don't like Bikinis.
I am not kidding you. Swimsuits are considered adult content.
I guess if I go to the beach then, under their logic I am considered to be a sex worker.
Well... enough was enough. I cleared my account out leaving only one photo, a shot of one of my avatars faces... who knows if a face is considered to be sexual content in their books, but that is the end of my Flickr account.
I am now here... it is not a community but at least I can post my photographs here.
Welcome to my new home... unless I get banned from here too...
